The
latest investment of the leading logistic company DHL is adding
helicopters for rapid delivers in London, New York and Los Angeles.
The chosen helicopter, Bell 206 Jet Ranger (operated for DHL by
Heli-Charter Ltd), can carry more than 300 kg of packages and
letters. Nowadays the number of the fleet is of five helicopters,
distributed in those three cities, but according
to the
company’s European chief executive, John Pearson, the
service could soon be seen in cities such as Chicago, Frankfurt and
Paris.
With
a daily connection between the Hub of DHL in Heathrow and London´s financial city center, the whirlybird will avoid the traffic jams and the time
of delivering will be reduced in an hour. This service guarantees
that express delivery of documents from the EEUU to London.
This
initiative accomplishes two essential bases of the company: constant
innovation and optimal customer service. The new service brings
benefits to both parts; DHL can now make sure that every document
gets to its destination in a record time and existing clients will
not be charge extra for it. This safe bet set aside the long hours of
traffic to save time with the new transport by air.
